Senior Finance Business Partner

Robert Half has partnered with a global FMCG business to recruit for a Senior Finance Business Partner. This role involves working closely with the Sales Director and various stakeholders to drive growth within strategic customer channels. For the right candidate this role offers:

Salary: £70k - 80k basic salary. 13% bonus + £6300 car allowance + double matched pension + private health insurance and other excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of category performance by conducting ad hoc financial analysis and delivering actionable insights to enhance business growth.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a large or complex category, providing expert financial support and partnering directly with the Director.
  • Oversee the creation and management of category profit and loss (P&L) statements, ensuring accurate tracking of product margins and Advertising & Promotion expenditure.
  • Lead the optimisation of resource allocation, scrutinising Trade Spend and A&P budgets to maximise returns and improve overall performance.
  • Manage and lead the GPS forecasting process for the category, ensuring data accuracy and providing key financial insights.
  • Work collaboratively with customer and channel teams to monitor significant customer changes and analyse their financial implications.
  • Partner with the Innovation Controller to develop robust financial business cases for innovation projects, ensuring governance and compliance are maintained.
  • Critically evaluate A&P investment strategies, focusing on effectiveness, return on investment (ROI), and their overall impact on profit margins.
  • Assist category teams in preparing financial models and forecasts for annual strategic planning, providing critical financial guidance.
  • Provide support for group-level reporting by analysing key metrics such as Category Net Sales Variance and Gross Margin variances.
  • Prepare and deliver ad hoc financial reports and insights as needed to support broader group objectives.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to influence business decisions and outcomes.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management, with excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • Experience within the retail, consumer goods, or FMCG sectors is highly desirable.
