Connect Personnel are working on behalf of a long-standing client who are looking for an Experienced Production Engineering Managerfor their site in Strood. To oversee the production process. To provide support to the workshop staff as part of the production management team. The company is a specialist in the repair and supply of hydraulic equipment to a variety of industries.

Job Role

Responsibility for the booking-in and planning of all production work; Have a clear understanding for the production process and how jobs will flow through the workshop, whilst also being mindful of agreed time frames for all work, completion dates Responsible for reporting and quoting customers on production work, whilst also actively up-selling Issuing work to the production staff, outlining expectations and explanation to ensure their understanding of the work required.

Monitoring the Clock in systems; this includes overseeing job times, especially with project, on-off jobs or special work. Liaison with customers and suppliers via the trade counter, when required. Liaise with the Production Buyer to ensure parts are available in a timely manner to complete jobs, and that the parts are correctly located and available when the workshop staff are put onto the job.

Provide regular sales forecasts to Engineering Manager/ HESL directors. To ensure that all supporting workshop paperwork is fully completed and costed. Using company software to book-in production work and monitor project work. Arrangement of all deliveries and collections Ensure all vehicles servicing requirements are met, as diarised by the office. Provide support and guidance to workshop staff. Being an advocate for and dealing with health and safety issues Inc: monitoring workshop visitors and encouraging others to do likewise. Report any incidents or near misses to the Engineering Manager Assist with training new staff and apprentices. Other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the position as agreed by the Engineering Manager.

The health and safety of HESL staff and visitors is paramount; HESL has a clear Health and Safety (H&S) Policy and is committed to providing necessary training, equipment and resources. Staff are required to familiarise themselves with the HESL H&S policy. Each member of HESL staff has a responsibility for their own, other members of staff and visitor health and safety.
