Management Accountant

My client, a market research company based in City of London, is seeking to hire a Management Accountant to join their busy team.

This is a permanent and full-time role, working on a hybrid basis of 3 days in office and 2 days working from home.

The salary for this role is £30,000 - £37,000. This role would be suited to an Assistant Management Accountant seeking a step up in their career.

Study support is available for this position.

The Management Accountant will be part of the Management Accounts (MA) team, reporting to the Finance Manager. The MA team is responsible for reporting business information and financial performance data across the group of companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for posting monthly payroll journals for the majority of the group, analyzing and documenting monthly variances compared to prior year and target.
  • Review and approve payroll journals for locally posted entities, and investigate any variances.
  • Perform monthly payroll reconciliations (P&L to payroll reports) and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies within the month.
  • Prepare data for monthly headcount report and reconcile it with HR system.
  • Own, prepare, and analyze salary and salary-related supporting schedules as part of the month-end close process, providing accurate reporting to the Leadership Team and insightful variance analysis.
  • Analyze monthly reports for Finance, Operations, and Human Resources divisions, supporting the FP&A team in their business partnering activities.
  • Collaborate with overseas office to provide accurate and timely information for audit and other deadlines.
  • Work with the Accounts Payable team to ensure correct coding of invoices.
  • Assist in year-end accounts, statutory reporting, and year-end audit.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with FP&A team to provide timely information when required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Part-qualified accountant or someone studying towards their qualification, with at least 1 year of relevant experience in management accounts.
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious individual.
  • Able to take ownership of workload, proactive, and curious.
  • Experience with foreign entities is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAGE, Power BI, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in payroll accounting is an advantage.
