Now, as we go through an exciting period of growth, we are looking for a Careers and Education Officer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As a Careers and Education Officer, you will support the delivery of our funded project

activities in Scotland, particularly the Scottish Government work plan.

Working with external organisations, you will co-ordinate and deliver our careers activities, developing a greater understanding of the rewarding career pathways in our industries.

You will also manage our Industry Champions initiative, assisting in the delivery of objectives and helping to identify new opportunities to meet the needs of employers and stakeholders.

Engaging with young people about their careers, you will promote the exciting and rewarding careers within the land-based and aquaculture sectors, relating back to your audience and forging bonds that will support the information you are communicating.

Additionally, you will:

  • Co-ordinate, deliver, monitor and report on project activities against project plans
  • With support, lead on initiatives and career events
  • Engage with the industry through facilitating effective partnerships, and sharing industry intelligence
  • Enhance our communication and social media processes
  • Manage customer relationships and maintain the quality of our communications

About You

To be considered as a Careers and Education Officer, you will need:

  • Sound knowledge of key sector industries, organisations, trade and membership associations, training providers and other relevant stakeholders in Scotland
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent project co-ordination skills
  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and reporting skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A strong interest in the land-based, aquaculture and environmental conservation

Sector

  • A friendly, approachable nature with the willingness and ability to engage people about careers
  • A full, valid driving licence (due to travel in Scotland to attend career and industry events)

Experience of building positive working relationships with external partners would be desirable, as would experience of delivering on a number of projects simultaneously.
