Job Title: Metal Roofing & Cladding Designer
Location: Waltham Abbey
Salary: Up to £55k (depending on experience)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Designer to join my clients growing team, specialising in Metal Roofing and Cladding. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled designer with experience in the construction industry to contribute to a variety of exciting projects across the UK. As part of the design team, you will play a key role in ensuring that designs and construction drawings are produced to a high standard and delivered on time, while meeting client specifications and staying within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality construction drawings and designs in line with project timelines.
  • Manage the design process, ensuring client expectations are met and maintained within budget constraints.
  • Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders for approval.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of design deliverables, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, codes of practice, and ISO9001 standards.
  • Stay up to date with changes in building legislation and coordinate building control compliance.
  • Coordinate and integrate subcontractor drawings and ensure cohesive overall design.
  • Provide technical and design support to various departments throughout project phases.
  • Attend and lead design team meetings, liaising with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare reports on progress, quality, and compliance.

Experience & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Hard Metal Roofing and Cladding design is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • A background in construction or design-related education (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
  • High-level proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM.
  • In-depth knowledge of approved document part B and NHBC conditions.
  • Experience working with online document portals (e.g., 4projects, Aconex) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous but not essential.
