Design & Quality Engineer

The Design & Quality Engineer plays a crucial, multifaceted role within the company. The position involves overseeing product design and development, quality control, and manufacturing processes, while ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation. Expertise in plastic injection molding, mold tools, aluminum extrusions, coatings for aluminum and steel, tubes, electrical parts, and circuits is essential. Proficiency in computer applications, CAD, and the ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and prepare technical documentation are required. Additionally, you will manage and maintain our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

Office-Based with Some Overseas Travel will be requires (once or twice a year)

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development and Design: Develop, design, and upgrade products using Fusion 360 or similar CAD software.
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate with national and international suppliers.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance as needed to sales team & customers.
  • CAD Library Management: Maintain and control the CAD library.
  • Manufacturing Procedures: Define product manufacturing procedures and instructions.
  • Quality Control: Oversee all aspects of quality control, including generating test reports, quality reports, and non-conformance reports with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and conduct annual audits.
  • Administer ISO 14001 Certification.
  • Conduct COP Audits.
  • Industry Standards and Regulations: Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations related to mirrors and safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update the Quality Manual.
  • Develop and enforce quality control procedures.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct First Aid and Fire Risk Assessments.
