Legal Counsel

An experienced lawyer is required to cover a 6-7 month maternity leave cover for our insurance sector client based in London.

Role Overview

This In-House Counsel position is for a fixed term of sixth months working as a legal counsel for a specialist insurance sector client.

You will provide legal experience and expertise, including drafting, negotiation and review of all relevant commercial agreements and contract amendments in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. This will include agency agreements, binding authority agreements, third party administrator agreements, agreements for services, SLAs, non-standard TOBAs, run-off agreements, co-insurance agreements, re-insurance agreements, share purchase agreements, software & licence agreements and confidentiality agreements.

Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a qualified solicitor or barrister with the following experience/characteristics:

  • Minimum 3 years pqe with strong experience in commercial contracts work either in-house or in private practice.
  • Insurance sector experience either from an in-house of private practice background.
  • Team player who is able to work in a co-operative environment and engage effectively with others.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making ability with sound judgement and decision making.
  • Ability to provide commercially focused solutions to the business on a daily basis.
  • An adaptable lawyer who is able to advise on a wide variety of areas of law.

On offer with this opportunity is the chance to join a small established team at a major international insurer. The role is a FTC but dependant on performance and internal requirements there may be the opportunity for a permanent role at the end of the FTC.
