We are very excited to be partnering with our client to support and find a great Finance Manager. Our client has stores across the World and always thinking of new ideas to expand in ways to offer different experiences to their customers. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Finance Manager to join the UK Finance team. The kind of Finance Manager they need is to always be curious, challenge what's possible. Be that person that supports all and wants to help. Enjoys getting involved in projects that are not your typical day to day role which can offer you really getting involved with the business.

This position will give you a huge amount of variation to exposure within a fun, exciting business and surrounded by a fabulous group of talented people whilst working closely with the US teams.

Snap shot of what you are responsible for;

  • Production and filing of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, duty submissions and other required submissions for the companies registered in the UK, Ireland and EU.
  • Key business contact for external auditors, tax advisors, HMRC (UK), ROS (Ireland) and other external parties involved in company compliance filings.
  • Subject matter expert and superuser for Making Tax Digital (MTD) software and MTD filings
  • Main advisor for the US Finance team and the US tax team on the differences between USGAAP, US taxation and UKGAAP, VAT and Corporation Tax.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable team ensuring invoices are processed correctly and suppliers are paid on time for UK and Ireland companies.
  • Support the monthly processes for management accounts production, balance sheet reconciliations and business reviews.
  • Responsible for ensuring the company is compliant with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting and submissions in the UK, Ireland, and EU**.**
  • Ownership of SOX compliance for the UK company.
  • Participate in the production of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts**.**
  • Contribute to global projects and provide advice on legislation changes impacting UK, Ireland & EU.
  • Direct Reports: Accounts Payable (1 team member)

Leadership

  • Manage one direct report- Accounts Payable.
  • Ensure the effective running of the Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets.
  • Utilises strong leadership and management skills to lead and develop both finance and non-finance teams to meet targets
  • Identify and implement improvements in the efficiency of the processes across the Finance team.
  • Recommend when external expertise is required and propose then implement agreed solutions for the benefit of the business

Statutory Accounts & Taxation

  • Ownership of the production and filing of international statutory accounts and corporation tax returns in UK and Ireland.
  • Key point of contact between UK Finance team and external auditors for each country.
  • Responsible for maintaining statutory and taxation entries
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns utilising Making Tax Digital software in the UK and in Ireland
  • Ensure compliance to all legislation and accounting standards necessary in each country in which UK operates
  • Ensure the UK and US Finance teams are informed where a country's accounting and tax legislation/treatment differs to the US.
  • Responsible forecasting estimated tax owed, filing the necessary documents
  • Develop and maintain accounting treatment and payment of intercompany balances between countries.

US Finance Support & SOX Compliance

  • Work with the US tax team on the development and maintenance of the transfer pricing policies used between countries.
  • Involvement in tax planning with the US Finance team.
  • Responsible for SOX compliance for UK teams, working with 3rd parties on SOX testing and maintenance of SOX documentation and other requirements.

Management Accounts & Balance Sheets

  • Manage monthly postings related to Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Payroll.
  • Investigate queries and provide commentaries for monthly results pack.
  • Participate in monthend meetings with the Senior US Finance team to review the financial results for UK.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, providing all necessary support and analysis.
  • Ownership of cashflow forecasts and management of foreign currencies for UK, Ireland and Denmark.
  • Responsible for bank payments in multiple currencies.

What we are looking for..

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent with five years plus post qualification experience years
  • Experience in a management role, with a proven, successful track record of delivery results to deadlines in a multi-national company.
  • Retail Experience - Desired but not essential
  • Multi-site experience - Essential
  • Previous experience of the production of statutory accounts under FRS102, UK VAT returns and filing submissions on HMRC and Companies House online portals.
  • Exceptional analytical and organisational skills, data-driven process-based decision making - able to identify opportunity, solution and see execution through to result.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, able to drive people performance remotely as well as personally.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
