Operations Director London £80,000 - £90,000 + Benefits

Our client, who is an established yet growing business who supply FMCG products into retailers, are looking to recruit an Operations Director. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimising all aspects of operations, from merchandising to distribution, customer service and IT. A key measure of success will be on time delivery and accurate stocks in line with customer needs. The role is based in London (SW4), and you'll work 4 days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies in line with the business' growth plans
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the wider supply chain, collaborating with other departmental heads
  • Accountability for merchandising and delivery of stock into retailers.
  • Own relationships with suppliers across the Far East, Europe and UK, ensuring service levels and quality of product are achieved
  • Manage 3PL warehouse performance. Ensure consistent communication and SLA's are adhered to
  • Oversee Customer Service function, responsible for dealing with enquiries, orders and challenges with retailers and independents on a global scale.
  • Line management of IT function, working on projects including new ERP, BI reporting and day to day user support

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven record in senior leadership role, with demonstrable experience to leading directs that include direct accountability for stock & inventory, IT & customer service teams
  • A strong background in grocery-volume retail would be highly desirable
  • Strong relationship builder with proven experience of managing international suppliers
  • Experience of supplying into retailers is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Tenacious and high-energy approach to work
