Our Dundee based client are currently looking for a Welding Inspector who will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of their welding operations. They are seeking an experienced professional with a CSWIP 3.1 certification to uphold our client's commitment to excellence in welding standards and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with specified standards and procedures.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing as required.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records of weld quality and any deviations from standards.
  • Collaborate with welding personnel and engineers to address any quality concerns or issues that arise during fabrication.
  • Verify welder qualifications and ensure that all welding procedures are properly followed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of welding procedures and quality control measures.
  • Provide guidance and support to welders and other team members on proper welding techniques and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry standards and advancements in welding technology.

Requirements:

  • CSWIP 3.1 certification is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as a welding inspector, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, and API.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and welding symbols.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities in welds.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to perform inspections in various work environments, including climbing, bending, and lifting.
