Senior Management Accounts Assistant

Our client is a law firm with offices located in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Their aim is to become the leading Law firm combining specialist business law and private wealth advice internationally. They have over 1000 staff, which includes over 150 Partners and approximately 40 employees within the Finance team.

They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Management Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of information for UK and overseas VAT returns
  • Preparation of monthly accounting information for external overseas accountants
  • Preparation of National Statistics Surveys
  • 3e general ledger enquiries - dealing with email queries, running detailed reports and generating subsequent journals
  • Reviewing expense nominal ledger codes and reanalysing costs as appropriate
  • Assisting with the management accounts process
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Assistance with reconciliation of balance sheets including intercompany reconciliations
  • Assistance with the maintenance of the general ledger structure within the 3e accounting system
  • Maintenance of authority levels document, Reed & Mackay travel codes and Rendezvous codes
  • Assistance with the annual PSA
  • Assistance with the partnership tax computation
  • Supporting the Partnership accountant on partner payments relating to drawings, distributions and capital as and when required
  • Supporting the rest of the Reporting & Analysis team, including the Group Financial Controller, on ad-hoc tasks as and when required

Candidate Profile

  • Knowledge of CMS or Elite would be advantageous
  • High level of numeracy
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, deal with deadlines and work longer hours during year end
  • Previous experience working in a Law firm
