Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Senior Finance Analyst for our client a local government organisation based in Brent.
The successful post holder will be responsible for providing specialist and senior financial and accounting support to a substantial area of the organisation's business, typically a major part of the budget for an overall department or a substantial defined technical area of the corporate accounting and control arrangements.
This is a 3 month starting contract with the possibility to extend. Hybrid working available.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Being actively involved in material business decisions to ensure immediate and longer-term implications, opportunities and risks are fully considered, and alignment with the organisation's financial strategy.
- Managing and leading staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability.
- Ensuring a systematic approach to financial control alongside the modernisation and streamlining of all processes.
- Supporting the departmental Head of Finance in the provision of high-level professional advice on a very broad range of financial issues.
- Leading the promotion of good financial management so that public money is safeguarded at all times and used appropriately, economically, efficiently and effectively.
- The role will cover the following areas of the Capital Programme and experience in these areas as well as technical Capital Accounting knowledge is key - Housing General Fund, Housing Revenue Account, and the organisation's subsidiaries.
Personal Requirements:
- Qualifications: CCAB-qualified accountant (CIPFA is preferred).
- Knowledge: evidence of significant relevant continuing professional development (CPD).
- Experience working in relevant section of finance applying for (eg children's social care, chief accountant team, adult social care, environment). (desirable).
- Experience providing financial advise and leadership in a large and complex organisation.
- Experience advising and managing all aspects of large and complex budgets, delivering significant improvements.
Working Hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday - Friday
Pay: £500.00 per day
