Role: Category Manager

Location: Birmingham - 3 days a week in the office, 2 days work from home

Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £42k to £50k

Sellick Partnership are currently looking to recruit several Category Managers for our NHS client based in Birmingham

Job Purpose: Category Manager

  • To provide support for the Head of Procurement to interface with stakeholders and deliver services
  • To develop and implement methodologies to facilitate and monitor contracts.
  • Effectively manage the internal operations and resources to enable the delivery of the saving targets and work plans.
  • To build professional relationships, implement change, and support.
  • Enable Procurement to continuously improve the service delivered to stakeholders, enhance expertise, and build capability and potential

Key responsibilities: Category Manager

  • Responsible for leading and facilitating the tender process and preparing all associated documentation
  • Analyse and evaluate received tender bids
  • Ensure full compliance with all National legislation relating to procurement
  • Liaise with stakeholders
  • Identify, analyse and seek to maximise the full benefit of any potential cost improvements
  • Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of all relevant commodities and supply markets
  • Maintain full and accurate records and filing systems of all Procurement work undertaken
  • Assist in the analysis of performance audits

Person specification: Category Manager

  • Experience working in a Procurement team
  • Experience in Procurement and Contract Management
  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts
  • Sound knowledge of contract management
