Head of PMO

The PMO Lead will hold the remit for all project management functions within Place. They will hold overall leadership for the programme management function which will support the delivery of the Place based work programme, working to support work across the full life cycle of Start Well to Age Well. They will work with colleagues to improve outcomes and services for the local population.

Description

The key duties for this role are as followed:

  • Working with the Head of Strategy Planning at Place they will support the delivery of national asks such as the planning cycle and operating plan within the Place ensuring that these marry up with local initiatives and respond to local population need.
  • The role of the Head of PMO is to support end-to-end transformation, including prioritisation, impact reporting, and assurance, alongside.
  • the measurement of the impact of transformation programmes and supporting teams to improve this where necessary;
  • the leadership of risk management across the portfolio and supporting programmes with risk identification, mitigation, and escalation;
  • The establishment of regular reporting to show progress and required escalations, including as part of the Integrated Delivery Framework for the Whipps Cross Hospital redevelopment.

Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence
  • Understanding of the public sector
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
  • Ability to create and give presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
