Support Worker

When you join Fortis Care as a Support Worker, you will provide care and support to a range of individuals living with learning disabilities, mental health, autism and other complex behavioural, physical, sensory and health needs. We need committed staff to support them in reaching their full potential - and of course, we'll make sure that you reach yours.

From day-to-day, our Support Workers will empower the individuals we support to become more independent within their home within the local community and other areas they wish to. This can include supporting people to go to college, learn to cook, develop independent living skills on varied levels, take a holiday, or do any number of other activities. Quite simply, we aim to make peoples lives better, more independent and enjoyable - and we guarantee you'll have plenty of fun along the way.

Duties will include supporting people with:

  • Daily living skills
  • Personal care where needed
  • Social inclusion
  • Activities
  • Promoting independence in all areas of home life and work-life
  • Managing finances

We train all of our staff to provide the best possible care to the individuals we support via the Care Certificate and QCF Social Care qualification. Our working hours are incredibly flexible; whether you have some previous care experience or not, we give all of our Support Workers comprehensive training.

Essential requirements:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Have 2 satisfactory references
  • Ideally, at least 1 year of experience as a Support worker/Care assistant
  • Ability to work as a team as well as individually
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Subject to DBS & screening process
