Highways Design Engineer Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Highways Design Engineer to join their Professional Services team in Grimsby. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary design consultancy that includes Civil, Structures, Infrastructure, and Build sectors.
Highways Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and develop junior team members.
- Support Project Managers in delivering major schemes.
- Manage and coordinate workloads to meet project deliverables within agreed timelines, quality standards, and financial objectives.
- Develop design briefs, prepare feasibility studies, and produce detailed designs, specifications, scheme reports, and contract data.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, ensuring quality and compliance with emerging legislation and engineering standards.

Who We're Looking For:
- HND/C qualified, with a preference for degree-level or equivalent experience.
- Chartered status or working towards it (desirable).
- Proven track record in the Highways and Transportation industry.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual for Streets, and Local Authority procedures.
- Understanding of Health and Safety legislation, CDM Regulations 2015, and project delivery legislative aspects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Key Signs, Key Lines, Auto Tracks, and 3D highway modelling software.
- Commercial awareness and experience in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
- Full driving license required.
