We are looking for a Procurement Business Partner to join our Corporate Services team, playing a key role in refining procurement processes and managing supplier risk whilst upholding our values of Service, Commitment, Innovation, Compassion, Collaboration and Integrity.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that values integrity, collaboration, and innovation. You will be part of a small, dynamic team, working on both direct and indirect spend categories across corporate services, IT, and chemicals. As Procurement Business Partner, you will be responsible for procuring a variety of works, services, and supplies, ensuring compliance with relevant utilities regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Execution: Lead the procurement of various works, services, and supplies as part of the annual procurement programme.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage pre-qualification, tendering, contract negotiations, and contract awards in compliance with OJEU and The Utilities Contracts Regulations.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that procurement strategies and specifications meet business needs.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and drive process improvements, ensuring compliance and delivering the most economically advantageous solutions.
  • Supplier Management: Monitor supplier performance and continuously refine supplier risk management and assurance processes

What We're Looking For

  • Educational Background: Degree level or equivalent, full membership of CIPS or ASCM is desirable
  • Experience: Experience with public or utilities procurement processes, and familiarity with NEC3 Contracts and ERP systems, e.g., SAP/Navision/MS Teams
  • Skills: Strong understanding of procurement strategies, process and basic supply chain principles, proficiency in MS Excel
  • Personal Qualities: Strong team player with a proactive, organised approach. Keen attention to detail with the ability to challenge the status quo.
