Mechanic / Vehicle Technician

We are currently recruiting for a permanent experienced Vehicle Technicians for a well-established client.

£14.50 P/H

8-hour shift Day Shift

Monday to Friday

A Technician will mean carrying out motor vehicle servicing, diagnosis, and repairs to approved standards as well as delivering unbeatable customer service every time.

Essential Job Functions/ Responsibilities

  • . To attain manufacturers' servicing and repair times.
  • · To note and report all components, materials and consumable used.
  • · Development of personal knowledge and experience to improve, profitability, customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • · To ensure vehicles are thoroughly examined and to reports all servicing requirements and associated work noticed whilst working on the vehicle to the Aftersales Manager.
  • · To ensure all chargeable labour, components and workshop consumables are recorded on the job card, and where possible work within the manufacturers recommended repair times.
  • · Ensure work carried out to MOT and/or manufacturers safety standards.
  • · To ensure optimum use of technical knowledge and skills to achieve effective, economic, and safe service/repair of customers vehicles.

Essential Skill Requirements

You will have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. MOT Licence as well as a full and valid UK driving licence. Previous diagnostic experience would be an advantage and an understanding of automotive systems and functionalities. You will be used to working as a part of a team to deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate an honest and diligent approach to work. Being in a busy workshop, you will have a flexible approach to time keeping and pay attention to the finer details.

Successful candidates will be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff. Operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business. Abide by health and safety legislation in respect of yourself and others.
