About the

Role:

On Behalf of the Open University, Pertemps are recruiting a HR administrative assistant to join the Open University's People Services Hub. The role provides essential administrative support across key operations, supporting a team of over 100 professionals who manage the full employee lifecycle. You will be involved in a variety of responsibilities, including general HR administration, Right to Work compliance, recruitment processes, and providing specialist advice on immigration and employment vetting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Operational Enablement mailbox and ticketing system, forwarding correspondence to the appropriate team members.
  • Provide support for compliance and screening-related administrative activities across the UK, ensuring adherence to safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and processes related to Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS), Disclosure Scotland, and Access NI.
  • Conduct ID validation checks and process screening checks, maintaining operational trackers, and ensuring data is accurately captured.
  • Support with regular internal audits and deliver monthly operational and management information reports.
  • Assist with process mapping & document creation relating to the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS), Disclosure Scotland, and Access NI.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in an HR/Operational administration role, ideally with experience in screening and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, with an interest in being data-driven to support decision-making.
  • Flexible and responsive to change, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in HR administration with a focus on technological efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills for data extraction and review.
