**FULLY REMOTE - This high end and exclusive role will only suit someone working for an Insurer dealing with £5million plus PI claims, just solicitor experience is unsuitable. One of the fastest growing insurance companies in the UK are looking to strengthen the claims team by recruiting a Catastrophic Loss Handler to deal with the highest value RTA personal injury claims typically exceeding £1million-£5million and high profile cases of the upmost severity.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Large & Complex Loss Manager and be responsible for their own caseload of new and existing claims, working within a set authority of up to £10 million setting and maintaining accurate reserves in line with our company reserving philosophy and have a proven ability to negotiate proactive settlements in a timely manner.
As an individual with a proven technical expertise you will also be involved in the technical development of the Large Loss team providing coaching and training where required along with ensuring best practice is adopted. An element of project work will also form part of the job spec.
As a senior member of the Technical team you will have the chance to represent the company at industry meetings to include MIB representation, ISCIF, ABI.

Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Minimum of 7 years experience within the insurance industry (motor) in a claims handling role, not just the legal sector.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in handling large loss personal injury claims (motor)
- Substantial knowledge and experience of settling claims in excess of £1 million including litigation
