An independent manufacturer, selling into the chemical, nuclear and pharmaceutical industries across the UK, Ireland, and East Asia requires a technically minded Area Sales Manager / Account Manager targeting new business opportunities across the North East and managing existing accounts.

BASIC SALARY: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

JOB DESCRIPTION: Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Account Manager - Pumps / Chemical

We are currently looking to add to our growing sales team and this role will include 60% account management and 40% new business development.

As an experienced Area Sales Manager / Account Manager sales professional covering the North East you will be responsible for:

  • Managing your time between account management and new business development; growing your sales territory by building on existing relationships.
  • Negotiating and closing new business opportunities at every opportunity.
  • Maintaining and updating our CRM system accurately and regularly.
  • Following up with clients to ensure they are satisfied with the company's products or services.
  • Occasionally representing the company at exhibitions, and industry events.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Account Manager - Pumps / Chemical

To be a successful Area Sales Manager / Account Manager, you will have a proven track record of technical account and sales management and you will ideally have a technical background and/or understanding of fluid handling systems. We will also welcome applications from Internal Sales Managers / Account Managers who are looking for their first step into external sales. Any experience of working with or selling into the chemical, pharmaceutical, and nuclear industries will be beneficial.

You will be:

  • An experienced industrial, technical, or engineering field salesperson with demonstrable business development experience in selling a technical product or solution into an industrial market (e.g. pumps, chemical processing, nuclear, pharmaceutical, or similar).
  • Able to understand technical requirements based on your knowledge and expertise and sell with a solution-based approach.
  • Competent with IT systems including the full suite of Microsoft Office.
  • Personable, driven, self-motivated and an enthusiastic team player.

BPMA. Liquid Pumps, Pumping supplies and equipment. Pump solutions, Fluid handling systems, fluid handing solutions.
