Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Manage and lead the Integrated Transport Team, ensuring efficient delivery of traffic improvement and road safety schemes.
- Project Management: Oversee the implementation of traffic calming, accessibility, and road safety projects, along with their associated traffic regulation orders.
- Data Analysis: Use a data-driven approach to assess the impact of traffic on the network and develop key improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior officers, elected members, and other teams to align network management with organisational priorities and policy documents.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of annual programs and long-term strategies for highway infrastructure improvements.
Your Team:
- Investigate requests for new highway infrastructure, including traffic signs, road markings, pedestrian crossings, and other low-cost improvements.
- Maintain a four-year program of capital improvements for road safety and traffic interventions.
- Ensure excellent responsiveness and service to all stakeholders.

- Residents and the public
- Elected members and town/parish councils
- Staff within the organisation
- MPs, government officials, senior personnel from other councils and partner organisations
- Statutory undertakers and developers
About You:
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role with a background in traffic engineering/management.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of highway and traffic legislation and regulations, including the Highways Act, Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, and the Traffic Management Act.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, the ability to write policy and strategy documents, and excellent communication abilities.
