Reed Accountancy are seeking an Assistant Accountant to provide essential support to the private businesses, charities, and personal finance of a High Net Worth family. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the family's financial affairs, offering a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic finance department.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Coding, preparing, and posting the family's bank transactions.
- Preparing and maintaining robust cash flow forecasts for personal and business accounts.
- Posting monthly accounting entries, including prepayments and accruals.
- Ensuring the integrity of financial numbers through balance sheet reconciliations and other month-end schedules.
- Analysing accounts and preparing VAT returns for the tax team's review.
- Producing management accounts and monthly reports with commentary and analysis for certain smaller entities.
- Preparing statutory financial statements for business entities and trusts.
- Assisting in the preparation of budget information as required.
- Supporting the Family Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AAT qualified.
- Previous experience in a similar role, involving key tasks listed above.
- Proficient in Excel and experienced with accounting systems.
- Committed to meeting reporting deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals.
- Responsible and able to take ownership of tasks.
- Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team.
- Discreet, with an understanding of the confidentiality required.
- Proactive in suggesting improvements to current processes.
- Adaptable to the changing demands of the organisation.
