Business Development Manager

In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Director to develop partnership opportunities in key international regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, India, and North America. You will be responsible for identifying and cultivating potential business opportunities, generating inquiries, and securing partnerships.

We are headquartered in Glasgow and have a well-established reputation as one of Scotland's most highly respected, licensed, and regulated cask businesses. Our clients include professional service companies such as wealth managers, family offices, and financial advisors across Europe, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, and North America.

Description

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director to generate leads and partnership opportunities in the whisky cask investment market.
  • Manage prospect lists using databases and digital tools like LinkedIn to identify and target potential business partners.
  • Engage with potential partners through outreach, digital media channels, and networking to generate interest.
  • Work through gatekeepers and middle management to reach decision-makers.
  • Set appointments for the Managing Director to close opportunities and convert leads into sales. Opportunity to co-present with Sales opportunities
  • Manage your lead generation activities and take ownership of meeting KPIs and metrics.
  • Provide regular updates and adjust strategies to achieve results.
  • Represent the company at industry events, with the possibility of periodic international travel.

Profile

  • Experience in business development, lead generation, or sales, ideally within professional services or luxury asset markets.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage decision-makers over the phone, via email, and across digital platforms.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and resilient, with a proven ability to manage in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Proactive mindset and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with digital lead generation tools and platforms such as LinkedIn.
  • Flexibility to work from home and occasionally travel internationally.
  • A passion for the whisky industry or luxury assets is a plus but optional.

  • A competitive, negotiable salary, with on target earning in the region of £55k, uncapped.
