Hours: 37 hours per week (1.0 fte)

Salary: Up to £40,109 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications). Plus generous benefits, including:

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding digital skills tutor to join our Digital Technologies team as we continue to move forward, grow our provision, and positively embrace emerging technologies for the benefit and development of our students.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled individual who would relish the opportunity to share their knowledge, skills, and industry experience when teaching across a range of vocational digital programmes. The successful applicant would have the opportunity to teach across a range of levels as appropriate e.g. Level 2 Gateway Computing & Games Development, Level 3 programmes such as T Levels in Computing & Cybersecurity and Level 3 Games Development.

About the Person
You will bring a breadth of digital experience to deliver a range of theory and practical topics such as cybersecurity and programming. A caring and nurturing approach to student development is essential to this role. The ability to deliver topics including introductory programming, games development, web and more general digital topics would be ideal but more important is the willingness and desire to develop your own subject specific skills to meet the changing demands of vocational education.

Key Skills and Experience could include:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python or C# is essential. Experience with additional languages like Java, SQL, or C++ is advantageous.
  • Cybersecurity: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat management, and secure coding practices.
  • Software Development: Experience in full-stack development including frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and backend development.
  • Web Development: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with additional experience in frameworks such as React being beneficial.
  • Data Science: Experience with data analysis tools and techniques, machine learning, and AI would be a plus.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in leading projects or programmes, with the ability to mentor students in project-based learning environments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of HND in a relevant Computing discipline, or/and relevant industry standard qualifications and experience.
  • Ideally, possession of a recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one with funding support from the College.
  • Recent experience within a digital environment, staying current with industry trends and technologies.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple teaching responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a supportive and effective learning environment.
  • Passion for continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
