We are currently recruiting Kitchen Assistants to join our enthusiastic and hardworking team in Eastbourne and throughout Sussex.
Own transport required due to remote location and shift times
Shift times: 6am-11am or 3pm-9pm
Food hygiene level 1 certificate is essential (we can arrange this for you).
Enhanced DBS certificate (we can arrange this for you).
£12.50 per hour
As a Kitchen Assistant you will have the following skills:
- The ability to work quickly and to the required standard
- An understanding of the importance of health and hygiene
- Plenty of stamina and the ability to work on your feet for most of the shift
- A great team player
- Good listening and communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to follow Health & Safety, Manual Handling and COSHH.
- Experience doing basic food prep, such as washing, peeling and chopping vegetables is ideal but not essential
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs by washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking food stuffs and helping to prepare dishes or sides such as salads and desserts
- Ensure that the kitchen is clean and operational, cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas
- Wash utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately
- Serve from canteen bays
- Dispose of rubbish correctly
- Prepare ingredients with guidance
- Receive deliveries of new food and drink stock items, checking off items and storing them correctly
Qualifications/Licences/Certifications
- Own transport required due to remote location
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Food hygiene level 1 certificate (minimum)
