Trainee Management Accountant
Location - Erith Kent
Salary- £26,000 to £28,000 DOE
Hours - 4 day working week (Monday-Thursday)
The Trainee Management Accountant handles daily responsibilities involving the Purchase, Sales, and General Ledgers, in addition to assisting with all aspects of the Month-end and Year-end closing procedures.
As the Trainee Management Accountant, you will...
- Review and validate supplier invoices and related payment requests, prepare and post daily invoice batches, and manage supplier and expense payment runs
- Reconcile monthly supplier statements, resolve discrepancies, and respond to inquiries from suppliers, clients, and consultants regarding payment status
- Post multi-currency bank transactions, process direct debit applications, and reconcile sterling and currency accounts
- Update and reconcile the fixed asset register, investigate ERP queries, support sales invoice production, and assist with debt collection and customer queries
- Handle month-end reporting and journal adjustments, identify and escalate potential risks, assist with the yearly financial audit, and perform other duties as assigned by senior management
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Sales, Purchase, and General Ledgers is required
- Experience with SAGE 50 or a similar Financial Accounting System is necessary
- Candidates should be AAT Qualified or hold a degree
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP Systems is beneficial
- A solid understanding of MS Office, including Excel and Outlook, is essential
- Strong organisational and time management skills, along with the ability to prioritise a diverse workload, are important
- A desire to pursue an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) is also expected
