Our client is a well-established business that design and specialist systems for aerospace, energy, water, and industrial clients worldwide. They're best known for making large-scale noise control solutions for jet engines and power turbines. They also also provide gas compression systems, emissions control, and specialist equipment for everything from power stations to hospitals.

Mechanical Draftsperson
Derbyshire

Days & Hours: 37.5 hours Monday – Friday 8.30-5.00pm

Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays

Pension: 6% contribution match from employer

Hybrid working: 4 days in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), Friday work from home

We're looking for a skilled Mechanical Draughtsperson to join our team, responsible for producing high-quality manufacturing drawings and detailed CAD models. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, be confident with GD&T, and have hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault. You'll support the design team by turning concepts into accurate 2D and 3D documentation for fabrication and assembly, ensuring drawings meet quality standards and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and check detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
  • Model components and assemblies using Inventor (2D & 3D)
  • Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) accurately
  • Use Autodesk Vault for drawing control and release
  • Interpret engineering specifications and supplier documentation
  • Support other departments and ensure projects meet cost, time, and quality goals

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong drafting skills and understanding of manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with sheet metal, welding, or fabricated structures
  • Proficient in Inventor, Vault, and standard office tools
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience with structural design codes or acoustic/noise control
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations, ATEX, or Machinery Directive
