Our client are recruiting for a Toolmaker to join their growing team!
Toolmaker Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the workshop for the repair, maintenance and production of tooling, jigs and fixtures
- Assembling, fitting and repairing tools
- Perform die assemblies and disassembly's
- Using hand tools such as Turret Mills, Surface Grinders, and Lathes
- Using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, gauges and vernier calipers to check the tool's dimensions
- Work from engineering drawings to assemble components
- Work with the design team to understand customer requirements and create strategies for manufacture
The ideal Toolmaker will:
- Have experience of using Bridgeport/ Turret Mills, Manual Lathes, and Surface Grinders
- Be able to use precision measuring equipment
- Be able to read and work from engineering drawings
- EDM Die Sinking experience (desirable)
- CNC Milling experience (desirable)
- Polishing and Benching experience (desirable)
- Have a recognized qualification/ apprenticeship (desirable)
- Have basic CAD and computer skills, working with both Metric and Imperial measurement systems (desirable)
- Machine knowledge on: AgieCharmilles/ GF Die Sinkers, Haas CNC, Hurco CNC, 4th + 5th axis machining (advantageous)
- Experience working to ISO0991 quality standard (advantageous)
