We are seeking a dedicated Placement Coordinator to join this dynamic team in Sandwell. The role requires full-time office presence during the initial settling-in period. Once training and onboarding are complete, they offer a hybrid working model with a minimum expectation of three days in the office per week. This may increase during busy periods or when covering for colleagues on annual leave.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Immediate Response: Provide immediate responses to information or situations concerning the risk to vulnerable children.
  • Placement Sourcing: Assist in sourcing suitable placements for children in care.
  • Liaison: Contact and liaise with internal provisions and independent providers to identify suitable placement matches.
  • Information Sharing: Gather and share information relating to child placements to support resource allocation and develop tools and systems to track placement sourcing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to source carer availability and suitability.
  • Risk Assessment: Liaise with other Trust placement teams to gather local information when sourcing placements outside of Sandwell to identify potential risks or vulnerabilities.
  • Quality and Accountability: Maintain high standards in work quality, taking responsibility for continuous knowledge and skills improvement.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate openly and respectfully with social care team colleagues.
  • Presentation: Present evidence and information in various forums as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or evidence of previous similar study with a willingness to obtain the qualification within a reasonable timescale.
  • Experience: Previous experience in children's placements within a social care setting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in IT applications.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a team, self-motivate, reflect, and use own initiative.
  • Resilience: Ability to remain focused despite oppositional challenges from families.
  • Multitasking: Capability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Flexibility: Adaptability and willingness to work flexibly.
