Data Architect

A central government organisation are looking for an interim Data Architect for a minimum of 6 months.

This will be on a minimum 6 month basis - Paying circa £550 per day outside IR35.

You must have valid SC before applying for this position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cloud Data Platform Management: Architect and oversee cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including data lakes, warehouses, and real-time pipelines.
  • Data Integration: Lead the integration of diverse data sources into a cohesive platform by defining ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and transformation strategies.
  • Data Modeling: Design and deploy robust data models (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) to support analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence needs.
  • Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce data governance, security, and privacy protocols to comply with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Cloud Performance & Cost Optimization: Optimise the performance and cost-efficiency of cloud platforms, managing storage, compute, and processing resources.
  • Data Architecture Design: Develop and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture strategies for modern cloud platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineers to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay informed on emerging technologies and tools, recommending innovations to enhance cloud data architecture.
  • Consulting & Advisory: Provide expert consulting services to clients, advising leadership and cross-functional teams on best practices for cloud-based data strategies.
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, policies, and procedures.
