We are looking for a Business Development Manager to spearhead sales and business development for our client's product range. This role is perfect for someone with a background in food processing capital equipment sales or project management. You will be responsible for investigating market opportunities, engaging with potential customers, and promoting the equipment to create and develop live sales enquiries.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Conduct market research to identify sales opportunities within the UK and Ireland.
  • Engage in telephone prospecting and arrange customer visits and meetings.
  • Achieve required levels of customer visits on a weekly basis.
  • Manage time and resources to achieve required sales and profitability targets.
  • Set up and oversee customer trials.
  • Send sales introduction letters and literature packs.
  • Write and send targeted area mail shots, including telephone follow-ups.
  • Liaise with suppliers about specific projects.
  • Learn about the equipment range and suppliers.
  • Promote the full product range to customers and prospects.
  • Assist with machine installations.
  • Update the company's CRM system with sales reports and feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven background in food processing capital equipment sales or project management.
  • Strategic approach to growing sales.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of the role autonomously.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and third-party specifiers.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems to track sales and customer engagement.
