A reputable college in Birmingham is looking for a Chef Manager to lead their catering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality and service, catering to a large number of students, staff, and visitors.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage the daily operations of the college's catering services, providing hot meals and grab-and-go options.
- Oversee hospitality functions, ranging from fine dining experiences to casual BBQs.
- Supervise and develop the catering staff, ensuring a high level of performance and professional growth.
- Handle HR-related issues, including staff scheduling and liaising with suppliers for procurement.
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring efficient stock control and portion management.
- Uphold strict compliance with health and hygiene standards, including HACCP regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Hospitality and Catering is desirable.
- Proven experience in a management role within the catering sector.
- Strong communication skills, with good numeracy and literacy abilities.
- Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising service quality.
