Are you an experienced finance professional ready to take the next step in your career? Bluebird Care is seeking a Senior Payroll & Finance Assistant to join our busy accounts team. This is your chance to bring your expertise to a rewarding role and make a real difference while working in a supportive and friendly environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Finance Operations: Raising sales invoices, credit notes, and allocating customer payments (including processing card payments via telephone).
  • Payroll Management: Overseeing monthly payroll using Sage Payroll, RTI submissions, and responding to queries such as holiday pay, SSP, and tax codes.
  • Accounts Administration: Utilizing Sage 50 Accounts to manage customer and supplier tasks.
  • Customer Support: Handling customer finance queries via phone and email to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with office employees to ensure accurate fee charges.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Supporting with PPE stock checks, insurance renewals, fleet, property maintenance, and utilities management, as well as other ad hoc tasks.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM (with a 30-minute lunch break) at our Chelmsford office. Please note this is an office-based role.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50Cloud Payroll.
  • Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • A proactive, deadline-driven individual who thrives in a team environment.
  • A driver with your own vehicle (for occasional office visits).

Bonus Skills (Desirable): Experience in the health and social care sector.
