Senior Telecommunications Engineer & Team Leader

Location:

Midlands/Northern England (Travel Required)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Senior Telecommunications Engineer & Team Leader to join a leading organization. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a blend of technical expertise and leadership abilities. The successful candidate will take on a dual role that involves the hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telephone systems, as well as leading and mentoring a team of engineers. The position covers a range of locations across the Midlands and Northern England, requiring extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance: Execute the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telephone systems and related equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability. Experience with systems such as LG Cloud, Horizon, and Unify is highly desirable.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Efficiently diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime for clients.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of engineers, ensuring peak performance and team cohesion.
  • On-site Support: Deliver on-site technical support, ensuring all systems meet client specifications and remain fully operational.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Accurately document and report on all completed work, including resolved technical issues, to the office in Romsey.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Management Liaison: Serve as the communication link between the engineering team and management, providing updates on progress, challenges, and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in telecommunications engineering or a related field, with proven expertise in the installation and maintenance of telephone systems. Knowledge of LG Cloud, Horizon, and Unify systems is preferred.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Independence: Capable of working independently, managing multiple tasks, and prioritizing workload effectively.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Midlands and Northern England.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service and team collaboration.
