Commissioning Manager

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Manager for our client a local government organisation based in Brent.

The successful candidate will Lead the overall management of a specific market area, according to one of three thematic industry areas (Residential and Nursing Care! Supported Living, HRS and other Accommodation based Services! Community and Preventative Services) and ensure services commissioned are safe, cost effective and of good quality.

This is a 3 month starting contract with the possibility to extend. Hybrid working available.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Lead the strategic and operational development of a specified thematic area, including the development of overarching commissioning plans and the development of evidence based new models of care.
  • Lead the delivery of strategic commissioning activity for the thematic area in partnership with all key stakeholders, within the available budget envelope.
  • Lead market engagement, market development and workforce development activity for all providers in a specific thematic area.
  • Manage the end-to-end commissioning cycle from analysis through to implementation.
  • Work with partners to design, implement and manage projects that will improve the range of services available whilst ensuring that services developed, commissioned or procured are cost effective, efficient and designed to deliver good outcomes.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to the market, including both existing and new suppliers Act in a capacity building capacity to ensure the market can deliver the outcome identified through the commissioning process.

Personal Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of, and cycle of commissioning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of procurement regulations within the public sector, including EU regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of (MHLD/OP/PC).
  • Sound understanding of the policy and operating environment of health, social care, regulated services, and the community and voluntary sectors.
  • Proven track record of achievement at a management level in a similarly large and complex organisation.

Working Hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday - Friday

Pay: £250.00 - £350.00 per day
