Operations Director

I am excited to be exclusively partnering with a growing food manufacturing business to recruit an Operations Director. This pivotal role will support the Managing Director in enhancing operational visibility and driving the company's ambitious growth strategy. The ideal candidate will spearhead the transformation of manufacturing processes and help position the company for a competitive edge in the market.

As Operations Director, you will oversee the entire manufacturing process to ensure the achievement of business KPIs in line with the company's strategic goals. You will be responsible for all operational aspects, including production, technical operations, logistics, engineering, and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the operations strategy to align with the company's growth plans.
  • Profit Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Team Development: Provide strong leadership, focus on team development, and succession planning.
  • Cost Management: Collaborate with the Finance Director to identify and implement cost efficiencies.
  • Budget Oversight: Review financial data and adjust operational budgets to support profitability.
  • Technology Integration: Research and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Operational Excellence: Identify and address improvement areas, optimizing processes to boost effectiveness.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure timely fulfilment of customer requirements.
  • Senior Leadership: Contribute to the Senior Leadership Team to shape and execute the company's growth strategy.
  • Health & Safety: Manage Health and Safety issues with a focus on a zero-accident mentality.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation to meet production targets.
  • Change Management: Project manage and oversee change initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in running a manufacturing site, preferably within FMCG or similar environments.
  • Demonstrated success in a senior leadership role with strong project management skills.
  • Expertise in managing teams within a busy production facility.
  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement techniques and modern manufacturing systems.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
  • Resilient, proactive, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Inspiring leader with a curious mindset and commitment to driving individual and team performance.

The role will offer a salary of up £110,000 per annum plus bonus potential of up to 20% of salary.
