EHS Manager

Reporting to the Site VP of Operations

The purpose of this role is to work alongside the Site Leadership team and manage the EHS function on site, whilst implementing and working towards COMAH regulations whilst complying with cGMP guidelines. this is a fully site based role.

  • Manage the EHS function; leading continuous improvement of health & safety standards on site
  • Engaging with the workforce to drive a safety culture by promoting safety initiatives across sites
  • Manage and support the EHS Officer with environmental, waste and health & safety management on site
  • Coordinate and manage security and cleaning activities on site
  • Implementation of ISO14001
  • Development of new and existing services based on an understanding of company needs
  • Development and implementation of COMAH strategy that demonstrates compliance with the COMAH Regulations
  • Development of COMAH safety reports, Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP), and supporting documentation for new assets, and the maintenance of the COMAH safety reports and supporting documentation, and provision of guidance and support to ensure all COMAH commitments are identified and delivered
  • Timely development and submission of the safety reports and supporting documentation to the Health & Safety Executive as required under the COMAH Regulations and responding to any follow up queries or questions by the Regulators
  • Delivery of agreed internal strategic development projects
  • Contribute to the company's sustainability and growth by identifying cost effective solutions to problems
  • Ensure expectations continue to be met in relation to quality, cost and delivery of work and projects being undertaken
  • Audits and reviews of practices & procedures to ensure methods of operation match documented procedures and/or recognised good practice, and updating/changing these where required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledgeable on a wide range of legislations and regulations in this field
  • NEBOSH diploma/certificate and/or IOSH membership
  • Proven experience in HSE Management in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Background in loss prevention and efficient safety systems
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, guidance and codes of practice
  • Strong analytical and organisation skills with an attention to detail and quality
  • Outstanding communication, skills both written and verbal, as influencing and clear disclosures are key for this role
  • Team player
  • Strong IT skills
  • Flexible working attitude

  • Working in line with current company cGMP procedures including all relevant SOP's and guidelines.
  • Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with appropriate EHS Procedures.
