Our client, a leading organisation in Leighton Buzzard, is currently seeking a talented and skilled accountant to join their team on a temporary basis with the opportunity to stay permanently. Role: General Accountant
Location: Leighton Buzzard
Duration: 6 months, potential to go permanent.
Hours: Flexible 39hrs - core hours are Monday to Thursday 9-4:30 and Fridays 9-12:30.
Pay rate: £25/hour
As the accountant, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including the preparation of monthly VAT returns, completing high-quality balance sheet reconciliations, and compiling information for National Statistics surveys. You will also take ownership of the fixed asset process, ensuring that appropriate approvals are obtained and documented. Additionally, you will support the month-end close process, reconcile intercompany accounts, and assist with any other ad hoc tasks required by the business.
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent skills in using Excel and be familiar with JDE systems (preferable but not essential). You should also possess a strong attention to detail, be highly organised, and have the ability to work to specified deadlines. Prior experience in a similar role is essential.
