Tenancy Enforcement Officer

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a social housing provider based in Surrey, for a Tenancy Enforcement Officer on a 3 month (minimum) temporary basis with an immediate start date. Although homeworking is available most of the work will be carried out via the office or out on patch.

This is full-time position at 36 hours per week, typically 9-5 with a bit of flexibility. The successful candidate must have relevant experience of managing ASB cases, preparing cases for Court (so a knowledge of the current legislation), signposting to relevant support agencies, completing Proportionality Statements, attending or arranging multi-agency meeting to support a victim or perpetrator.

Day to day duties will include:

  • To manage ASB cases, ensuring targets and deadlines are met
  • To identify and respond to tenancy breaches and work with the Tenancy Enforcement Team Leader to make appropriate decisions regarding case management
  • To ensure that in all investigations and case management that the Public Sector Equality Act provisions are considered
  • To deliver against corporate, team and individual targets for case management, customer satisfaction and service improvements
  • To deliver effective, efficient services improving value for money for the team and organisation
  • To be the organisations lead team for enforcement and ASB management
  • To recommend cases for eviction to the Tenancy Enforcement Leader for approval
  • To support the Tenancy Enforcement Team Leader to manage and improve policies and procedures
  • To support improvements to iPC and other IT tools, ensuring we provide agile services and respond to good practice and legislative changes
  • To maintain positive operational relationships with other teams and external agencies
  • To represent the organisation at external forums, meetings and working groups as required
  • Support victims and witnesses, including referral to specialist agencies and taking excellent witness statements or associated documents
  • Manage injunctions and use of new tools and powers as appropriate, referring to solicitors for appropriate cases and to other agencies where their action is required
  • Undertake DIY court action, including Injunctions, closure notices and straightforward possession hearings

The successful candidate will have a valid driving license and access to their own vehicle and a basic DBS carried out within the last 3 years.
