Moulding Supervisor

Our client is a leading UK manufacturer and distributor within the swimming pool industry. They are currently looking for Moulding Supervisor to join their hardworking team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of injection moulding and extrusion, as well as strong experience of supervising a team, excellent communication skills and be a strong team player. As a Moulding Supervisor you will safely install, set up and remove moulds from injection and extrusion machines, supervise personnel within the department to ensure goods are being manufactured in accordance with the works orders and authorised drawings as well as ensuring incoming materials are inspected and inspection forms are completed.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

Your duties as a Moulding Supervisor would be:

  • Safely installing, setting up and removing moulds from injection and extrusion machines
  • Supervising personnel within the department to ensure they are manufacturing goods in accordance with the works orders and authorised drawings
  • Organising the day to day workload of the team
  • Allocating any specific tasks to team members including export orders, ensuring all extra checks are completed and documented
  • Liaising with the Operations Manager to discuss any issues and needs within the department
  • Ensuring that incoming materials are inspected as per the ‘Goods Inwards Inspection Manual' completing inspection forms where necessary and reporting any issues or defects to the Production Buyer and Production Manager
  • Monitoring raw material stock, informing the Production Buyer and Production Manager of any irregularities or shortages as well as ensuring the stock is suitably stored and rotated
  • Conducting spot checks on products countersigning each inspection log daily
  • Responsible for manufacturing stock take/cycle counts
  • Inspecting of customer returns and reporting back to the Production office
  • Completing orders to the company database when possible
  • Ensuring calibrated items are inspected as requested by the Quality Manager
  • Ensuring tool maintenance and liaising with tooling manufacturers regarding repairs
  • Working with the Production office on setting and reviewing lead times
  • Organising and documenting all internal training needs and ensuring all products in the department have ample skill coverage to cover any sickness and holding
  • Responsible for ensuring monthly maintenance checks are actioned and recorded as well as ensuring all staff keep plant and equipment in good working order
