We are looking for a part-time Cost Analyst to join our client's dynamic finance team in London. This role is more than just numbers; it's about being part of the engine room of a fast-paced, globally recognised business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing a complete management accounting service and ensuring central costs are controlled effectively.

What you'll do:

As a Cost Analyst, you will be at the heart of the finance team, playing a pivotal role in managing central costs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ensuring accurate accruals and reporting for head office costs, producing monthly reports, managing the budgeting and forecasting process, administering staff costs, answering queries, creating ad-hoc reports, liaising with your line manager for budgeting and forecast processes, and producing timely and accurate budgets and forecasts. This role requires someone who can work under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Ensure accurate accruals and reporting for head office costs, including salaries and associated costs
  • Produce monthly reports to ensure good visibility of costs that enable budget holders to be accountable for costs
  • Provide excellent service to budget holders so that any queries or concerns are dealt with effectively and efficiently
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for head office costs, ensuring all budget holders are engaged with deadlines and requirements
  • Administer staff costs, accruals and ensure accuracy of costs posted to provide detailed and accurate month-end accounts
  • Answer queries proactively and create ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Liaise with line manager for the budgeting and forecast processes, incorporating requests and maintaining a clear audit trail of changes
  • Produce timely and accurate head office costs budgets and forecasts

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Cost Analyst position will bring a wealth of experience in finance management. You should be CIMA or ACCA part qualified, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload effectively. Your ability to engage and communicate with non-finance employees will be crucial in this role, as will your ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders at all levels of the business. Good Excel skills are a must, along with an eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

  • CIMA or ACCA part qualified
