Maintenance Technician

Posted by Cobalt Recruitment.

Cobalt is working alongside a client that is transforming the student accommodation sector in London, after over 20 years within the UK property market. Their developments combine high-quality design with a laid-back ambiance, and a key part of this is down to the excellent work of their maintenance team you'll be joining for one of their PBSA sites in the borough of Southwark.

As the Maintenance Operative, you'll be ensuring the environments remain safe and proactively maintained, creating an atmosphere that enhances the experience of your customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting routine property inspections and address maintenance needs;
  • Performing general repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry) and co-ordinating with contractors for more specialist works;
  • Conducting regular checks on HVAC systems;
  • Engaging with residents professionally and positively;
  • Oversee bin rotations, refuse removal, and cleanliness of bin stores and surrounding areas.
  • Ensuring all works comply with safety regulations and all safety systems (fire alarms etc) are in working order;
  • Keep accurate maintenance records using the CAFM system.

As the successful applicant for this role you'll be able to demonstrate previous facilities/maintenance experience in a customer-facing role, with hospitality or residential sector experience viewed particularly favorably (but this is not essential) You'll be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive nature, whilst a relevant trade qualification would again be desirable.

Please note, due to the nature of this site, this role will require a flexible approach to working hours and patterns, operating on a 4-on/4-off basis.
