The successful applicant will work in a busy department fitting out vehicles and installing various aftermarket electrical products. The successful candidate will have high attention to detail and be able to work as part of a team and alone. Reporting to the Supervisor this role offers the chance to join an ambitious company which is part of a large FTSE50 group.
What will you be doing?
- Installation of all wiring and electrical equipment including inverters, roof lights, solarpanels, beacons, water tanks and night heaters etc.
- Carry out repairs to older vehicles, fault finding and diagnosing electrical malfunctions.
- Making and running wiring looms and split charge systems.
- Design and adapt electrical systems.
- Assisting the joinery team with the installation of woodwork.
- Work in tandem with the other members of the department to ensure all works arecompleted to a high standard.

- To effectively deliver to the daily/weekly plan and to ensure department delivery schedules are met.
- To ensure productivity and output of the area are safely maximised.
- To effectively communicate to key stakeholders, i.e., daily huddles, shift handover.
- To provide cover alongside the Senior Joiner for the Supervisor during holiday, absence periods.
- Support with training requirement for new starters.
- Work with Procurement to ensure sufficient stock for the van fit outs ahead of installation
- Working closely with the Operations Manager and Supervisor on new projects and innovations.
About You
- Approved apprenticeship or NVQ level 3 standard in the installation and maintenance of
- Auto Electrical Systems or similar
- Ability to diagnose electrical malfunctions within automotive systems
- Confident in the use of power tools, voltage/current meters and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Perform diagnostic electrical tests
- Analytical skills
- Complex problem solving
- Ability to install electrical systems on various vehicles, interior and exterior
- Knowledge of fundamentals of electrical wiring
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Ability to communicate vehicle issues in layman's terms
- Ability to read schematic drawing

- Use own initiative and work to a high standard unsupervised
