Salary: £23,500 to £23,893 per annum (Local Government pay award pending wef 1 April 2024)

Damp, Mould and Condensation Cleaner – The Role:

We have two full-time Damp, Mould and Condensation (DMC) Cleaner roles available in our Building Services Team.

The Damp, Mould and Condensation Cleaner would be expected to deliver a high-quality customer focussed service including the cleaning of mould, painting and decorating as well as assisting other trades in Council managed Properties.

There may be a requirement to work at other locations to meet the needs of the business and be expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of the service.

Damp, Mould and Condensation Cleaner – Key Responsibilities:

  • Painting and decorating, as well as assisting other trades in our Council managed Properties
  • Have a good working knowledge or be willing to be trained on how to clean mould within tenanted properties, voids, offices or commercial buildings, managed by the Council
  • Day to day responsibility for vehicles / plant / materials under the direction of the DMC Repairs Supervisor and Logistics Officer
  • Report any defects for vehicles, plant and materials to the DMC Repairs Supervisor
  • Identify breaches of tenancy agreement with regards to health and safety, fire safety and fly tipping in communal areas, accurately recording details on the PDA
  • Work in compliance with the codes of conduct, regulations (including financial) and policies of the council

Damp, Mould and Condensation Cleaner – You:

  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
  • Manual handling experience
  • Ability to carry out cleaning tasks, specifically but not limited to cleaning mould
  • Have a driving license
  • Ability to collect waste and safely load vehicles
  • You will also be a good communicator, with the ability to listen to our tenants, sympathise and advise on best practice in preventing mould growth
