Temporary Legal Secretary (Conveyancing)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and organized Legal Secretary to provide temporary support to one of our clients based in Northwest London. The successful candidate will assist with administrative tasks related to property transactions and ensuring smooth operations within the department.

Responsibilities:

  1. Document Preparation:
  • Draft and format legal documents, including contracts, deeds, and correspondence.

  • Prepare completion statements and invoices.

  1. File Management:
  • Maintain organized files for property transactions.

  • Track deadlines, appointments, and key dates.

  1. Communication:
  • Communicate with clients, solicitors, and other parties involved in conveyancing matters.

  • Answer phone calls and handle inquiries professionally.

  1. Diary Management:
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and property viewings.

  • Coordinate calendars for conveyancing team members.

  1. Research and Due Diligence:
  • Conduct basic legal research related to property law and conveyancing.

  • Assist with due diligence checks on properties.

  1. General Administrative Support:
  • Photocopy, scan, and file documents.

  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary, preferably in conveyancing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with property law terminology.

Duration:

  • Temporary position for around 1 month with potential to be extended.

Location:

  • Position will be office based.
