Salary: £22/£24 per hour

We are excited to offer a career opportunity with a leading national business in the heavy plant and machinery industry for a Mobile Service Engineer.

Role Overview:

As a Mobile Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing repair, service, maintenance, and commissioning of heavy machinery, primarily paving machines, on customer sites. This position is a fantastic opportunity to work on-site, develop hands-on mechanical expertise, and manage a varied and dynamic workload.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Carry out field service jobs including the repair, service, and commissioning of machines and associated heavy equipment.
  • Overhaul used machines and prepare them for sale according to approved specifications.
  • Ensure all job-related paperwork is completed and returned to the service office promptly.
  • Maintain company image by adhering to uniform and PPE requirements when working on customer sites.
  • Present a professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers, representing the company at all times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, security, and safety of your van and tools.
  • Adhere to company quality procedures and health and safety policies.
  • Order parts for service jobs within agreed budgets and ensure jobs are completed within allocated hours and to budget.
  • Undertake any other tasks as required by the Managing Director.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working with heavy plant machinery
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy plant equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work to set KPIs.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in commissioning heavy machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with customers and team members.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role working with heavy plant machinery is essential.
  • Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems

Salary & Benefits:

  • £22/£24 per hour

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday with flexibility required for extensive travel and overnight stays.

Working Location:

  • Extensive travel within the UK; field-based role.
