They are looking for a Procurement and Contracts Officer ideally with a minimum of 1 years' experience in procurement or in contract management to join their procurement team.

As a Procurement and Contracts Officer you will be responsible for leading and advising on the procurement of selective goods and services in line with company policy and relevant legislation. You will work in consultation with service managers to commission, monitor, develop, manage and decommission contracts & service agreements to achieve value for money and deliver the company's corporate objectives.

Ideal candidate will be willing to travel to the Grimsby or Boston offices as required.

What will I be asked to do as a procurements and contracts officer?

  • Assist in consultation with the Customer Engagement Function to create and maintain arrangements whereby their customers are afforded appropriate levels of information, consultation, involvement, decision- making and/or monitoring of procurement exercises.
  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in strict compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensure that all duties - including the management of employees, consultants and contractors - are in line with their policies, procedures, budgets, standing orders and financial regulations to ensure internal and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the procurement pipeline to ensure efficient delivery of procurement projects, taking into account any available category plans.
  • Critically evaluate spend reports to identify value for money opportunities and report procurement performance within the company.

What Skills, attributes and experience will I need as a procurement and contracts officer?

  • Experience and a proven track record of achieving tangible results in delivering or procuring quality services within a complex, large scale (£m+) and customer-focused environment.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience of procurement policy & practice, including relevant legislation such as European Procurement Regulations, and knowledge of various forms of contract (e.g. JCT etc).
  • Experience of working collaboratively with internal partners/stakeholders to achieve common goals through negotiation & persuasion.
  • Personal and professional demeanour that generates credibility and the respect of key partners/stakeholders.
  • Achieved (or working towards) level 4 or above of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) qualification and gained the relevant procurement experience. Or willingness to undertake these studies following successful completion of the probation period.
