Credit Controller

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to work for this successful company. You will play a crucial role in managing the company's accounts receivable function, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive client relationships. This role is integral to our finance team, contributing to the overall financial health of the firm. Your duties will be as follows:

  • Monitoring and managing the firm's accounts receivable ledger
  • Proactively contacting clients to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Negotiating payment plans and resolving any issues related to unpaid invoices
  • Liaising with internal staff to resolve invoicing queries in a timely manner
  • Implementing and adhering to the firm's credit control procedures
  • Acting as the primary contact for clients regarding outstanding payments
  • Providing detailed statements and explanations to clients as required
  • Preparing regular reports on the status of receivables and outstanding debts for the senior management
  • Conducting analysis on debtors and overdue accounts to identify trends and issues
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to the Head of Accounts
  • Monitoring WIP levels on a monthly basis
  • Analysing WIP data to ensure accuracy and identify any potential issues around overdue billing and write-offs
  • Ensuring the timely invoicing of WIP, working closely to resolve any delays or discrepancies
  • Reporting on WIP levels to the Head of Accounts and suggesting improvements for efficient WIP management
  • Implementing new processes for monitoring and managing WIP to ensure the carrying value is minimised where possible to maximise cash flow for the business
  • Maintaining accurate records of all communications and transactions with clients.
  • Ensuring all credit control activities are documented in compliance with the firm's policies.
  • Liaising with internal staff regarding client accounts where any potential legal action is recommended for recovery

You will have proven credit control experience and have demonstrated success in managing large volumes of receivables and complex accounts.

You will be proficient in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
