Technical Sales Engineer Overview
My client are a specialist in development, manufacture and supply of packaging production line equipment to the FMCG market. Due to staff retirement, they are looking to expand their sales team with a Technical Sales Engineer. The ideal candidate will require strong engineering or technical knowledge within mechanical and electrical principals and ideally a sales background or an experienced engineer with a desire to get into sales as well. You will need to be based within commutable distance of Stanmore, Middlesex.
Responsibilities:
- Comprehensively learning a technical product range
- Communication with customers and suppliers via telephone and email on a daily basis
- Regularly diagnosing problems/providing solutions
- Demonstrating/Commissioning equipment and materials to existing and potential clients
- Using the showroom to present and demonstrate company machinery and equipment to new and existing FMCG clients
- Be able to diagnose and fix any faults on machinery
- Discussing company products with clients on a technical level.
- Generating leads through company website
- Price negotiation and relationship building
- The role will be office based in North London, however client visits across the UK will need to be made as required
Technical Sales Engineer Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or similar education in an engineering discipline
- Must be able to read/understand an electric wiring diagram
- Must be able to understand complex machinery with moving parts
- Ability to grasp technical knowledge and convey this clearly to clients
- Knowledge and experience of industrial manufacturing equipment is ideal, however not essential as training will be provided
- Experience with business development and price negotiation or the desire and attitude to learn this
- Possess good ability with relationship building
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Based within commutable distance of Stanmore, Middlesex and happy to travel as required
Technical Sales Engineer Position Remuneration
- Salary £40,000 - £48,000 DOE
- 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays
- Hours Monday - Friday
